George “the” Bastard

George began writing comedy as a college student in Australia, writing for
university revues, and performing as part of the duo Shag Pile, who appeared
on TV variety program “Hey Hey It’s Saturday” in 1989 brushing each other’s
teeth to the tune of “Dueling Banjos”. A regular contributor to Australian
comedy magazine “The Amiable Quadruped”, he wrote for the radio shows “All-
Star Laughing Type Show” and “Cutlery Tales” while performing stand-up. He
was a contributing writer on the TV series “Larger than Life” and “Laugh You
Bastards”, and wrote for the Tasmanian political satire shows “Strictly No
Balls Groom” and “Ali Groom and the 40% Thieves”, as well as winning Tasman-
ian stand-up comedian of the year in 1994. He has performed stand-up in
Australia, Canada and the US, wrote and appeared in
“Just for Laughs?” (1999), which was a
documentary of the Montreal comedy
festival. Recently he could be seen as
a regular performer at the short-lived
Asheville Comedy Club and Deli, before
becoming a regular contributor to The
Feral Chihuahuas in 2006
